Black glutinous rice and sago pearl dessert also known as ‘Pulut Hitam’. Palm sugar and rock sugar are then used to sweeten this Southeast Asian dish. This black sticky rice delicacy is exceptionally rich and creamy in flavour, just like the consistency of rice porridge. It can be served either warm or chilled. Taste the real santan and black glutinous rice.

  1. Soak black glutinous rice in room temperature water for 1 hour and strain into a pot.
  2. Fill pot with 1.5 liters of water and add in the rest of the ingredients.
  3. Bring to boil without the lid.
  4. Reduce the heat slightly when it starts to boil.
  5.  Stir to allow rock sugar to dissolve and content to mix.
  6. Allow it to be boiling state for 60 minutes at medium to high heat, adjust the heat when necessary.
  7. Add in coconut milk extract into pot and stir to dissolve.
  8. When content softens, it is ready to serve warm or chilled. Enjoy!

Ingredients: Black glutinous rice, Rock sugar, Sago pearl, Coconut milk, Pandan leaves.

Storage: Store in cool dry place away from sunlight.
